Avalanche Refresher
Course Description
The Avalanche Refresher course will review content from any of the previous courses you’ve taken. Specific time will be spent on components instructors feel are key to backcountry decision making and utilizing student led learning and feedback will be a key component of this course. This will help students to solidify what they know by sharing with peers under instructor facilitation.
Who Should Take this Course
The Avalanche Refresher course is for ANYONE who has already taken an avalanche course, but it has been a while. Participants may have attended some awareness classes, workshops or completed an avalanche course, but none are a prerequisite for this course.
Aspiring professionals will need to take the Level 1 and Avalanche Rescue as a prerequisite for the Pro 1 course.
Student Learning Outcomes
At the end of the Avalanche Refresher course, the student should be able to:
- Review content from any of the previous courses you’ve taken.
- Enhance backcountry decision making.
- Utilize student led learning and feedback.
Prerequisites
Students must be able to travel in avalanche terrain and bring appropriate equipment for traveling on snow to class. There are no other prerequisites.
